EYFS

Children in Reception
(M-26) Understand the ‘one more than/one less than’ relationship between consecutive numbers.

Early Learning Goal

- Verbally count beyond 20, recognising the pattern of the counting system;
- Compare quantities up to 10 in different contexts, recognising when one quantity is greater than, less than or the same as the other quantity;
- Explore and represent patterns within numbers up to 10, including evens and odds, double facts and how quantities can be distributed equally.

Year 1

Mathematics Year 1: (1C1) Represent and use number bonds and related subtraction facts within 20
Mathematics Year 1: (1C4) Solve one-step problems that involve addition and subtraction, using concrete objects and pictorial representations, and missing number problems such as 7 = – 9

Year 2

Mathematics Year 2: (2C6) Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables, including recognising odd and even numbers

Year 3

Mathematics Year 3:Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables

Year 4

Mathematics Year 4: (4C6a) Recall multiplication division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 × 12

Year 5

Mathematics Year 5: (5C6a) Multiply and divide numbers mentally drawing upon known facts

Year 6

Mathematics Year 6: (6F6) Associate a fraction with division and calculate decimal fraction equivalents [for example, 0.375] for a simple fraction [for example, 3/8]
Mathematics Year 6: (6C6) Perform mental calculations, including with mixed operations and large numbers
