EYFS Incy Wincy Expressive Arts and Design

This Incy Wincy Expressive Arts and Design activity is adult-led with a clear and easy to follow structure. There are three activities which include performing the actions to the rhyme, using musical instruments to represent different sections of the rhyme and using stick puppets. A session could involve all the activities or a selection based on the needs of the children.

Development Matters and Early Learning Goal Links:
3 and 4 year olds
Remember and sing entire songs.
Play instruments with increasing control to express their feelings and ideas.

Children in Reception
Sing in a group or on their own, increasingly matching the pitch and following the melody.
Explore and engage in music making and dance, performing solo or in groups.

Early Learning Goal
Sing a range of well-known nursery rhymes and songs.
Perform songs, rhymes, poems and stories with others, and, when appropriate, try to move in time with music.
