Introducing Possession Lesson
This Introducing Possession lesson covers the prior learning of recognising and using contractions, before moving onto the main skill of using apostrophes to show possession.
The lesson starts with a prior learning activity to check pupils’ understanding. If they need more practice, you can choose other resources for that step. Children can then practise further by completing the activities and can extend their learning with engaging reasoning and application tasks.

English Year 2: (2G5.8) Apostrophes to mark where letters are missing in spelling and to mark singular possession in nouns [for example, the girl’s name]
