Y2 Grammar Punctuation and Spelling
This Recognising and Using Simple Contractions lesson covers the prior learning of recognising and using commas in a list, before moving onto the main skill of contracting two words using an apostrophe.
The lesson starts with a prior learning activity to check pupils’ understanding. If they need more practice, you can choose other resources for that step. Children can then practise further by completing the activities and can extend their learning with engaging reasoning and application tasks.
National Curriculum Objective
