Mixed Age Year 5 and 6 Fractions Step 2 Resource Pack includes a teaching PowerPoint and differentiated varied fluency and reasoning and problem solving resources for this step which covers Year 5 Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers.* This pack follows the White Rose Maths Guidance for Spring Block 1.

*Please Note - This step does not include resources for Year 6 to match the steps provided in the guidance from White Rose Maths. It is recommended that Year 6 complete the expected or greater depth level as revision. We are hoping to review these resources and possibly provide content for the other year group in the academic year 2019-2020.

Expected Questions to support converting improper fractions to mixed numbers. Includes fractions up to twelfths where some fractions can be simplified.
Greater Depth Questions to support converting improper fractions to mixed numbers. Includes fractions up to twelfths and answers must be simplified using knowledge of equivalent fractions.

Reasoning and Problem Solving
Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Problem Solving)
Developing Use the digit cards to make an accurate number sentence by turning an improper fraction into a mixed number. Includes halves, thirds, quarters, fifths and tenths.
Expected Use the digit cards to make an accurate number sentence by turning an improper fraction into a mixed number. Includes fractions up to twelfths.

  1. I followed the link to buy this pack from TES. Having paid the £2, the pack did not contain any improper to mixed numbers (& vice versa) work as advertised. In fact, it was the same pack which I had downloaded for free previously, not what was seen in the pictures above. Please could you send me the correct pack. Thank you.
