Discussion points for teachers

    1. Help Cleo input the numbers. Discuss the representations on the clipboard and what numbers are being represented. Discuss what ‘72 tens’ means. Discuss what ascending means.
    2. Put the cities in descending order to help Cleo work out which cities she could visit. Discuss what each of the symbols mean and how the scroll can be used to interpret the numbers. Discuss what descending means? Discuss how numbers lower than 500 are the cities that can be reached.
    3. Help Cleo work out what the trader earned each day by ordering the values. What could the missing value be? Discuss how the numbers given can be ordered and how the clues given help to work out what the missing numbers could be. This question is open-ended for the children to explore.
