English Year 1: (1G6.3) Regular plural noun suffixes –s or –es [for example, dog, dogs; wish, wishes], including the effects of these suffixes on the meaning of the noun

Differentiation:

Varied Fluency
Developing Questions to support recognising plural nouns. Most words featured are easily decodable without split digraphs.
Expected Questions to support recognising plural nouns. Words featured are decodable with knowledge of all phonetic sounds required for the Year 1 phonics screening.
Greater Depth Questions to support recognising plural nouns. Nouns used are in full sentences where sentences contain words which cannot be easily decoded. Also features exceptions to pluralising rules; e.g. fish and sheep.

Application and Reasoning
Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Application)
Developing Write two nouns using the pictures provided. Most words featured are easily decodable without split digraphs.
Expected Write three nouns using the pictures provided. Words featured are decodable with knowledge of all phonetic sounds required for the Year 1 phonics screening.
Greater Depth Write a sentence using the noun provided. Nouns used are in full sentences where sentences contain words which cannot be easily decoded. Also features exceptions to pluralising rules; e.g. fish and sheep.
