Tenths as Decimals Fluency Matrix

Worksheet

Children can demonstrate their understanding of fractions with this Year 3 Tenths as Decimals Fluency Matrix worksheet. This resource also includes content from the previously taught lessons 'Tenths' and 'Count in Tenths'. There are a range of questions with representations such as ten frames, number lines and part-whole models which gradually increase in the level of challenge to ensure progression. You may choose to use a targeted row or column or alternatively the whole sheet.

As decimals are not taught discretely until Year 4, we've included this optional lesson to be flexible with the needs of your class and it can be omitted if pupils are not ready to be introduced to decimals at this point.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Count up and down in tenths; recognise that tenths arise from dividing an object into 10 equal parts and in dividing one-digit numbers or quantities by 10
