National Curriculum Objectives

No formal objective. However, these words are taken from the Year 3/4 non-statutory spelling list and the focus is given to vocabulary of abstract concepts in line with the Spoken Language Guidance.

Varied Fluency
Developing Questions to support using abstract nouns within short sentences. Including common abstract nouns (for example: excitement, happiness, morning, love).
Expected Questions to support using abstract nouns within sentences. Including common and some less common abstract nouns (for example: bravery, friendship, generosity, evening, kindness, sadness).
Greater Depth Questions to support using abstract nouns within multiple sentences of varying sentence length. Sentences include more than one abstract noun using less common abstract nouns (for example: faith, courage, sacrifice, victory).

Application and Reasoning
Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Application)
Developing Use an image to write a sentence containing an abstract noun. Common abstract noun provided.
Expected Use an image to write a sentence containing an abstract noun. Common and some less common abstract nouns used, word bank provided.
