This Year 1 Fact Families - Addition Facts Discussion Problem has been designed to encourage children to work together to find a solution. In this problem, children are given one number, and they need to find out what the remaining number might be, and use these numbers to build a fact family. Children may like to repeat this activity and find more than one possible way of solving it.
Our discussion problems promote a greater depth understanding and they're perfect for those children that are ready for a further challenge. If children are finding it a little tricky, we've included an answer page to aid discussion.
