Year 4 Compare Numbers up to 10,000 Discussion Problem

This Year 4 Compare Numbers up to 10,000 Discussion Problem resource has been designed to provide learners with more opportunities to enhance their reasoning and problem-solving skills through more challenging activities. There are two questions for children to complete. The first involves a range of representations, with some use of flexible partitioning, for pupils to investigate the different ways to complete the comparison statement. In the other, children must use the clues to identify which numbers on a spinner different children could have landed on. Learners can work in pairs or small groups to discuss with each other about how best to tackle each problem.
