Step 1, 2 and 3: Giuseppe is a pizza chef selling his pizzas at a local food market. He receives an order that requires the knowledge of equivalent fractions to calculate how many slices of his pizza should have olives on. The next day he tries to sell a new creation of pizza. He needs help to work out the fraction of pizza he has to sell as an improper fraction, so that he knows how many slices he has. At the end of the day, he needs to calculate how much pizza he has left as a mixed number.
Step 1, 2 and 3: Two mad scientists, Professor Arc Voltage and Dr Killa Watt, come up with a scheme to steal the Volcano Bomb from Dame Megaton. In order to steal the bomb, they design a mechanical robot that will help them break into Dame Megaton’s lair. Before they can do that however, they need to order and organise all of their building materials.
Step 1-2: Larry’s Leisure Centre has just opened its doors to the public and two children, Layla and Amir, are going to check out the new facilities. Pupils will need to help Amir and Layla figure out how much money they each have, how much money Larry has dropped and convert the prices of items in the vending machine so that Larry can buy a drink.
Step 1: A Viking clan, led by Estrid, is setting sail from Scandinavia. They are travelling across the North Sea to England. Pupils will help Estrid calculate how many Vikings can fit on each longship and how many pieces of equipment can be taken on the journey. Children will also assist two other Vikings who are playing a mystery number game to pass the time on the longship.
Step 1: We meet Vodi and Efna who live in the Neolithic village of Skara Brae in the Orkney Islands. They spend their days farming the land and hunting for food. Follow them through their day as they compare arrays of barley planted in a field, compare the number of fish Vodi catches to that of his dad, compare the amount of berries Efna collects compared to her mum and make statements complete when arranging food for the festival of the Summer Solstice.
Step 1: Hamish and Syeda are travelling to Japan with the Great British Winter Team to compete in the Winter Games being hosted in Japan. They will be multiplying the height of different buildings, calculating the water used and the possible stopping distance of the aeroplane once it has touched down.
Step 1: Alfie, his Auntie Sharon and Uncle Paul are moving to a new house. They need help measuring and finding the perimeter of a letterbox and house number using whole and half centimetres. The family also need to decide on the design of a new tiled bathroom wall using different tiles to meet the perimeter requirements.
Step 1: Two Year 6 children, Alex and Sophia, embark on a school trip to the Natural History Museum with their teacher, Mr Khan. Before they can begin their journey, some baggage needs to be put into weight order. The bus driver also needs help selecting the shortest route to get the class to their destination. Finally, Alex and Sophia need some help with a card game they are playing on the bus.
Step 1: Pupils join the Ancient Greeks as they attempt to enter the city of Troy by building the Trojan Horse. Children will help Alexios work out the cost of materials, the number of meals needed to feed the Greek army and use reasoning to find the answer to a number game which two soldiers are playing whilst they hide inside the Trojan Horse.
