Step 7-9: Guiseppe the pizza maker’s niece (Chiara) and Barney the baker’s nephew (Tom) have come to visit. Guiseppe and Barney decide to break for lunch and take a walk around the rest of the food market. They have fun on the Dizzydish, test their strength on the Whackamole game, and share some food.
Step 4-7: Grandad Terry continues to show Lily around his Toy Factory. Lily uses her knowledge of calculating one more and one less to work out how many toys he has. He then shows Lily where he makes his building blocks, and she compares the quantity of blocks in two towers. Finally, she discovers some potions, which Grandad Terry uses to bring his toys to life. Lily orders the potions from smallest to largest to bring her bear to life.
Step 1, 2 and 3: Giuseppe is a pizza chef selling his pizzas at a local food market. He receives an order that requires the knowledge of equivalent fractions to calculate how many slices of his pizza should have olives on. The next day he tries to sell a new creation of pizza. He needs help to work out the fraction of pizza he has to sell as an improper fraction, so that he knows how many slices he has. At the end of the day, he needs to calculate how much pizza he has left as a mixed number.
Step 1, 2 and 3: Two mad scientists, Professor Arc Voltage and Dr Killa Watt, come up with a scheme to steal the Volcano Bomb from Dame Megaton. In order to steal the bomb, they design a mechanical robot that will help them break into Dame Megaton’s lair. Before they can do that however, they need to order and organise all of their building materials.
Step 6-8: The Vikings Estrid and Bjørn plan a feast to celebrate capturing a new farm. They debate how many berries need to be in each basket to reach a given total, and Estrid has to solve multiplication calculations to see how many extra eggs they need. Bjørn checks the cooks’ 3-digit multiplication calculations before he and Estrid use division to work out if there will be fewer adults than children on the tables at the feast. Finally, Bjørn needs help working out how to get the largest portion of food at the feast.
Step 3-5: The new water slide has just opened at Larry’s Leisure and there are lots of visitors who want to try it out. Pupils will help Larry add up how much money has fallen down the slide, find the difference between the amount of money he has found at the bottom of the pool compared to yesterday. Finally, pupils will assist Larry with a customer who needs to be given some change after buying some sweat bands.
Step 4-6: There’s a new bad guy in town! Join Colin and the superheroes as they try to defeat this new menace using the power of statistics. Pupils will help Colin and the superheroes by creating pictograms using 2,5 and 10; interpret pictograms and draw and interpret block diagrams. Will the superheroes succeed, or will someone else come to their rescue?
Step 1-3: Join us at Superhero HQ where Colin, senior administrator for the headquarters is busy collecting data from the superheroes of Merton City. Pupils will help Colin make tally charts, create pictograms and interpret pictograms all based around the data collected by the superheroes the previous night.
Step 1-2: Larry’s Leisure Centre has just opened its doors to the public and two children, Layla and Amir, are going to check out the new facilities. Pupils will need to help Amir and Layla figure out how much money they each have, how much money Larry has dropped and convert the prices of items in the vending machine so that Larry can buy a drink.
Step 3-5: Estrid and her Viking clan near the settlement of a tribe. They need help predicting how far they have travelled before discovering that the tribe are excellent farmers and want to take the tribe’s land for their own. They work out how many crops each field can hold and then go on to challenge the leader of he tribe to take control of the settlement.
Step 2: Our Viking clan, led by Estrid have finally arrived in Britain. Pupils will help Estrid to work out how many warriors her camp of tents will hold, work out the mistake Estrid has made when calculating the amount of meals her hungry tribe of warriors will need. Pupils will also help work out which is the best way of solving a calculation and finally the distance needed to travel in order to find a suitable settlement.
Step 7-9: It’s the end of the school trip for Alex and Sophia and time for the children to head home. Pupils will need help to work out the decimal and fraction of a number of people standing at a bus stop, work out the decimal and fraction of the amount of fuel used and left in the tank of the bus, work out how much money Alex has spent both as a fraction and as a decimal and finally solve questions as part of a quiz.
Step 1: A Viking clan, led by Estrid, is setting sail from Scandinavia. They are travelling across the North Sea to England. Pupils will help Estrid calculate how many Vikings can fit on each longship and how many pieces of equipment can be taken on the journey. Children will also assist two other Vikings who are playing a mystery number game to pass the time on the longship.
