Early Learning Goals:
Communication and Language
- Listen attentively and respond to what they hear with relevant questions, comments and actions when being read to and during whole class discussions and small group interactions;
- Make comments about what they have heard and ask questions to clarify their understanding;
- Hold conversation when engaged in back-and-forth exchanges with their teacher and peers.

Physical Development
- Hold a pencil effectively in preparation for fluent writing – using the tripod grip in almost all cases;
- Use a range of small tools, including scissors, paint brushes and cutlery;
- Begin to show accuracy and care when drawing.

National Curriculum Objectives:

Spoken Language: English Year 1 – Year 6

Pupils should be taught to:

  • listen and respond appropriately to adults and peers
  • use spoken language to develop understanding through speculating, hypothesising, imagining and exploring ideas

 

About this Resource

This PowerPoint has been designed to help children in EYFS develop their Communication and Language and Physical Development skills and to practise and develop pupils’ memory and listening skills
Before completing this activity you will need green card or green paper, a variety of pom poms, sequins, glitter, pre-cut stars, glue and scissors. Put out the resources so they are accessible for a group of children to complete the task. Slide 4 has a list of instructions intended to be read aloud. Slide 6 has a completed image for the children to compare their own creation with.
