# Subtraction Breaking Apart Lesson

This Year 1 Subtraction - Breaking Apart lesson covers the prior learning of using the language of subtraction, before moving onto the main skill of solving subtractions by breaking a number into parts.

The lesson starts with a prior learning worksheet to check pupils’ understanding. If they need more practice, you can choose other resources for that step.
