  1. Question 4 seems very difficult and overly complicated for a year 3 child. I have just had to look at the answers and then spend some time to figure out what the questions were actually asking. It should be worded differently as there is more than one step needed for each answer. I will only be giving this question to the GD children.

  2. Very disappointed to see that the errors are still there on question 4. Such a shame as I wanted to use this as an end of block assessment.

    • Hi, question 4 was corrected last year and I’ve doubled checked this today. The answers are worked out as follows:
      Step 1: ? – 10 = 430 – 100, ? – 10 = 330, ? = 340
      Step 2: ? – 100 = 120 + 10, ? – 100 = 130, ? = 230
      Step 3: ? – 100 = 650 + 100, ? – 100 = 750, ? = 850
      Step 4: ? + 10 = 590 – 10, ? + 10 = 580, ? = 570
      Step 5: ? – 1 = 874 – 100, ? – 1 = 774, ? = 775
      Step 6: ? – 10 = 825 – 1, ? – 10 = 824, ? = 834

      Hope this helps. Sian 🙂

  3. Please check question 2. Window 4 has 939 which is more than there should be according to the note. This doesn’t fit the storyline.

  5. Hi can you please review Q4 as there are several errors. I believe it is also pitched above a Y3 level.

    • Hi Joanne, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have edited the clues and answers so they are now all correct. We have pitched it at Year 3 using the White Rose small steps document for Place Value in the Autumn term. Our questions in this pack are based closely on the questions they have provided so that is why we’ve said it’s for Year 3 Secure. Hope this helps, Sian 🙂
