Differentiation:

Varied Fluency
Developing Questions to support recognition of nouns in single-clause sentences. Only one noun used in each sentence. Using mainly CVC and CCVC/CVCC words.
Expected Questions to support recognition of nouns in single-clause sentences. Up to two nouns and adjectives used in sentences. Using high frequency or phonetically decodable words.
Greater Depth Questions to support recognition of nouns in multi-clause sentences. Up to two nouns and additional adjectives in each sentence. Using some words which are not easily decodable.

Application and Reasoning
Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Application)
Developing Select the appropriate noun from a choice of two in a word bank to fit within a single-clause sentence.
Expected Select appropriate nouns from a choice of three in a word bank to fit within a single-clause sentence with adjectives.
Greater Depth Select appropriate nouns with no word bank to fit within a multi-clause sentence with additional adjectives.

Questions 2, 5 and 8 (Reasoning)
Developing Explain whether a noun has been correctly identified within a single-clause sentence.
Expected Explain whether a noun has been correctly identified within a single-clause sentence with adjectives.
Greater Depth Explain whether two nouns have been correctly identified within a multi-clause sentence with additional adjectives.

Questions 3, 6 and 9 (Application)
Developing Identify and change the noun in a single-clause sentence using a word bank (choice of two nouns).
Expected Identify and change the two nouns in a single clause sentence using a word bank (choice of three words). Adjectives used.
Greater Depth Identify and change the two nouns in a multi-clause sentence with no word bank. Adjectives used.
