Varied Fluency
Developing Questions to support recognising statements where the words used are decodable or commonly featured in Year 1 expectations. All sentences are either exclamations or statements.
Expected Questions to support recognising statements where the words used are decodable or commonly featured in Year 1 expectations. All sentences are either exclamations or statements.
Greater Depth Questions to support recognising statements where the words used contain spellings taken from the Year 1 and 2 spelling words. All sentences types are included with some one word exclamations being used. Words used may also be taken from the Year 2 spelling appendix.

Application and Reasoning
Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Reasoning)
Developing Explain whether the sentence is an exclamation or statement where the words used are decodable or commonly featured in Year 1 expectations.
Expected Explain whether the sentence is an exclamation, question or statement where the words used contain spellings taken from the Year 1 and 2 spelling words.
Greater Depth Explain whether the sentence is an exclamation, question, statement or command where the words used are taken from the Year 2 spelling appendix.

Questions 2, 5 and 8 (Application)
Developing Sort the sentences into the correct sentence type groups where two groups are given and the sentences are either exclamations or statements.
Expected Sort the sentences into the correct sentence type groups where two groups are given and the sentences are either exclamations, questions or statements.
Greater Depth Sort the sentences into the correct sentence type groups where three groups are given and all sentence types are used.
