Stig of the Dump Chapter 5 Comprehension for Whole Class Guided Reading includes differentiated questions and activities based on the fourth chapter of the popular novel by Clive King. We recommend using this novel with Year 3 & Year 4. In this chapter, Barney visits Stig but finds three brothers playing in the pit instead. Barney decides to hide and throw mud at them until they leave, but they trick him and come back to 'get' him. Barney runs to Stig's shelter and the brothers follow him. Stig threatens them and takes the youngest brother hostage. When the older two come back for the youngest, they make a peace offering with jelly babies and cigarettes. Barney and Stig decide they like the boys and in turn, they decide that Barney and Stig can join their gang.
