Varied Fluency
Developing Questions to support identifying and using subordinating conjunctions in sentences with two short clauses. (e.g. I went to the park because it is exciting).
Expected Questions to support identifying and using subordinating conjunctions in sentences with two expanded clauses. (e.g. I am very hungry because I did not have any lunch).
Greater Depth Questions to support identifying and using subordinating conjunctions in sentences made up of multiple clauses with prepositional phrases. (e.g. My Dad can’t go to work this week because he has chickenpox).

Application and Reasoning
Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Application)
Developing Replace the underlined conjunction so that the sentence makes sense. Rewrite the sentence. Sentences features short clauses. Word bank provided.
Expected Replace the underlined conjunction so that the sentence makes sense. Rewrite the sentence. Sentences features expanded clauses.
Greater Depth Replace the underlined conjunction so that the sentence makes sense. Rewrite the sentence. Sentences features multiple clauses and prepositional phrases.

Questions 2, 5 and 8 (Application)
Developing Add conjunctions to complete two short clauses and include extra detail.
