Developing Questions to support using time, place, and causal conjunctions in sentences with one or two simple clauses. For example, ‘I enjoyed PE when I was at primary school.’
Expected Questions to support using time, place, and causal conjunctions in sentences with two expanded clauses. For example, ‘My baby brother takes his teddy with him wherever he goes.’
Greater Depth Questions to support using multiple time, place, and causal conjunctions in sentences with multiple clauses. For example, ‘I once went to the local supermarket, where they sell delicious ice-cream, because my brother was feeling a bit fed up and I thought a little treat might cheer him up.’

Application and Reasoning
Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Application)
Developing Using knowledge of conjunctions, complete a sentence with a time, place or cause conjunction. Includes joining two simple clauses. Word bank given.
Expected Complete a sentence with a conjunction of either time, place or cause. No word bank given. Joining two expanded clauses.
