This 'Year 6 Autumn Maths Assessment Activity - Detectives on the Move' resource is a fun, engaging and fully resourced maths assessment activity that year 6 teachers can use at the start of the year to help assess their class's understanding of prior objectives and knowledge. This activity involves a short story about two detectives who move to a new house and find themselves needing to solve a number of problems to be able to properly renovate and decorate their new home, whilst also finding the culprit to a classic 'whodunnit'. The questions in the resource can be used throughout a week, with the booklet having natural pauses at the end of 'day' or lesson.
