Friday was Ed's last day at his other place of work in IT - he's officially coming on board full time. This has delighted the team as he's worked part (but almost full) time on the business since we started it 5 and a half years ago and now we'll finally be able to work with him in the day time and not just in the evenings and on weekends. He'll be taking on more responsibility in the company too so his new role is Digital and Customer Service Director. This will mean that I can focus on the resource creation and proofreading side of things (why I started it, right?) and also the not so fun HR. On the HR front, Lisa joined the team last week as HR and Health and Safety Manager and we're so pleased to have her on board - but especially me, as it's not my cup of tea and I ended up doing it! George has also joined us in customer service and he'll be responding to your emails.
On Friday night, Ed and I went to see Miss Saigon (did I tell you that my degree is in musical theatre?) so this was a lovely present that I got for my birthday back in August. Yesterday we attempted the car shopping again without a toddler and it was much easier with just a baby.
I feel like I've written this backwards but never mind - one thing just led to another! In more exciting news, Hannah, Jan and Victoria will begin their proofreading training tomorrow. We're all excited for them feeling confident and proofreading resources so we can get them online more quickly. No pressure guys!
I'm having a break from doing a live this week but I'll look at doing one a week on Monday so if you have any suggestions, let me know.
Love Claire and the team at Classroom Secrets.
