Space Group Project for KS1 and KS2 in three differentiated levels to promote teamwork and collaboration within small groups focusing on a group application to the National Space Agency (NSA).
We recommend these activities are used with mixed ability groups. They are designed to promote British Values by encouraging each group to discuss ideas, support each other and to be tolerant and respectful of the views and opinions of others.
The task is based on a job advert for a group of astronauts. As a group, pupils must identify skills, qualities and characteristics that astronauts will need to spend 6 months in space. They must choose a member of the group to represent each characteristic needed and fill in a group application pack (KS1) or present their application as a group (KS2).
