Identifying Noun Phrases Lesson

This Year 4 Identifying Noun Phrases lesson covers the prior learning of noun phrases before moving onto the main skill of identifying noun phrases within a passage of text.

The lesson starts with a prior learning activity to check pupils’ understanding. The interactive lesson slides recap the prior learning before moving on to the main skill. Children can then practise further by completing the activities and can extend their learning with engaging reasoning and application tasks.

English Year 4: (4G3.2) Noun phrases expanded by the addition of modifying adjectives, nouns and preposition phrases (e.g. the teacher expanded to: the strict maths teacher with curly hair)
