Year 5 Measuring with a Protractor 1

This Year 5 Measuring with a Protractor 1 lesson covers the prior learning of identifying angles and measuring angles in degrees, before moving onto the main skill of measuring with a protractor.

The lesson starts with a prior learning worksheet to check pupils’ understanding. If they need more practice, you can choose other resources for those steps here and here. The interactive lesson slides recap the prior learning before moving on to the main skill. Children can then practise further by completing the activities and can extend their learning by completing an engaging extension task.

National Curriculum Objective
Mathematics Year 5: (5G4a) Know angles are measured in degrees: estimate and compare acute, obtuse and reflex angles
Mathematics Year 5: (5G4c)  Draw given angles and measure them in degrees

Due to the nature of the questions on the worksheet, the Extension worksheet is not available in interactive format.
