Mathematics Y5: (5F5) Multiply proper fractions and mixed numbers by whole numbers, supported by materials and diagrams

Differentiation:

Beginner Multiplying a single digit by a common proper fraction, (e.g. halves, quarters, fifths and tenths). Answers are either less than 1 or a whole number. Aimed at Year 5 Emerging.

Easy Multiplying a single digit by a proper fraction. Answers may be improper or proper fractions. Aimed at Year 5 Developing.

Tricky Multiplying a single digit by a mixed number (that involves halves, quarters, fifths, eighths or tenths). Some crossing of boundaries. Aimed at Year 5 Secure.

Expert Multiplying a 2-digit number to 30 by any mixed number. Aimed at Year 5 Mastery.
