This resource contains a model text of a balanced argument. This can be explored with your class as a good example of what you might expect them to write. Give children time to read the model text and analyse the vocabulary and sentence structures used. What elements might they want to use in their own writing?

Then pupils can then use the writing frame to create their own balanced argument. They may want to write out a first draft in their books and use this worksheet for a final copy to be proudly presented on the wall. Encourage them to use all the ideas, vocabulary and editing techniques they have learnt to produce a high-quality piece of writing.
