Whether you're reading as a class or a smaller group, this Rooftoppers Chapter 18 guided reading pack provides all the questions and answers you could need for your guided reading session on chapter 18 of Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell. In the first part of the pack, you'll find questions for all eight reading domains, arranged in a way that makes it easy to focus on just one or two skills, or pick questions for all of them. An answer sheet is provided, to make life easier for you!

This pack also includes a sheet of our written answer practice questions. Designed to build children's skills and confidence when constructing written answers, it mimics the sorts of questions found on a SATs reading paper. Answers are provided for these questions as well.

• English Year 5 & Year 6: Maintain positive attitudes to reading and understanding of what is read.
• English Year 5 & Year 6: Understand what they read by exploring the meaning of words in context; drawing inferences and justifying inferences with evidence; predicting what might happen from details stated and implied; summarising the main ideas drawn from more than one paragraph and identifying key details that support the main ideas; and identifying how language, structure and presentation contribute to meaning.
• English Year 5 & Year 6: Evaluate how authors use language, including figurative language, considering the impact on the reader.
