Use this Y4 Partition Decimals Reasoning and Problem Solving resource to give your pupils a chance to apply their knowledge of partitioning decimal numbers to problem solving.

The first question is a reasoning question which asks them to check an answer and explain their ideas using mathematical language. In the second question, they extend their thinking beyond place value and use flexible partitioning to split a number. In the third question, they use clues to create decimal numbers according to given criteria. Each question has two similar parts to encourage confidence.
