This Year 2 Count Money Pence supporting activity gives you a ready-made, fun practical money activity for children to build confidence and apply what they have learned about counting money in pence. Using a mystery bag full of coins, children take out new coins each time and find the total. This ensures that they are able to recognise the value of the different coins and develop their addition skills.

This activity would work well in a small group with an adult but once children are more confident with the rules, it could be run independently.
