Get children curious about using notes and coins with our Year 2 Count Money Pounds and Pence varied fluency resource. We've created four different types of questions for children to get to grips with counting money in pounds and pence. There are two of each question type to help children consolidate their learning of the key skills involved in this lesson. Developing: Questions to support combining up to three coins and one note to find different monetary values.

Expected: Questions to support combining up to six coins and up to two notes to find different monetary values.

Greater Depth: Questions to support combining coins and notes to find different monetary values, using a mixture of images, words and numbers with multiple coins of the same value.

Use this resource as part of your main lesson following your teaching input. A perfect independent learning task for children to complete or encourage group work and mathematical discussion by using this as a small group activity.
