Use this Year 2 Count Money Pounds Notes and Coins discussion problem to enhance pupils' understanding of counting pounds in notes and coins through an extended problem solving question. Children are required to use the clues provided to count different combinations of notes and coins.

Designed to be used in pairs or small groups, children will apply their reasoning and problem solving skills to find a solution. There are multiple answers to the problem, however we have included an example to aid marking and discussion.
