Consolidate children's understanding of position and direction at home by using our Year 2 Describe Turns Homework resource. With two varied fluency and one reasoning and problem-solving question at each differentiated level, children will describe the turns using 'full turn', 'half turn' and 'quarter turn'. They will also identify the direction of the turn using 'clockwise' and 'anti-clockwise'.

Select from one of the three differentiated levels to target the activity to the different needs within your class. Use as homework or even as an extension; the choice is yours!

Curriculum Objectives

  • Order and arrange combinations of mathematical objects in patterns and sequences
  • Use mathematical vocabulary to describe position, direction and movement, including movement in a straight line and distinguishing between rotation as a turn and in terms of right angles for quarter, half and three-quarter turns (clockwise and anticlockwise)
