Use this Year 2 Which Plants Can be Eaten? Lesson resource to teach your class which types of plants can be eaten and which part of the plants we usually eat.

The lesson starts with two review questions and a hook. The teaching slides then present new knowledge in clear stages and then there are two varied tasks to engage children's interest. Teachers can choose one or more of these to ensure that their pupils understand that we can eat fruits and the stem, leaves and roots of some vegetables. It is also very important that we must not eat some plants as they are poisonous. The occupational slide at the end of the lesson gives children the opportunity to learn about what a greengrocer does.
