If you've got some budding mathematicians who want to take their knowledge of lines of symmetry and apply it to some intriguing investigations and probing problem-solving questions, get them this Year 4 Lines of Symmetry challenge resource! It works wonderfully as a group task, inspiring discussion and mathematical talk, but can also happily be done solo, in school or at home.

This resource provides two open-ended questions designed to get children thinking about and applying their symmetry knowledge in trickier scenarios. To help you or your pupils make sure they're on track, we've also included an example answer sheet. Ideal!
