Worksheet

Give children the opportunity to put their multiplication skills to the test with this multiplying 3 numbers together resource. We've created a resource with one reasoning style question and two problem solving style questions with two examples of each question type. This will enable children to consolidate their learning with different question types and apply their skills.

Our Year 4 Multiply Three Numbers has been differentiated three ways and below you will find a brief outline as to how we have differentiated to meet each level of challenge:

Developing: Questions to support multiplying three 1-Digit numbers. Pictorial support given and the efficient grouping of the calculations is already complete.

Expected: Questions to support multiplying three 1-Digit numbers. Some pictorial support provided.

Greater Depth: Questions to support multiplying three 1-Digit numbers in the most efficient way and relies on the children’s knowledge of the inverse.

Use this worksheet as part of your main teaching sequence as a task following on from a series of varied fluency questions. Alternatively, this could be used as a challenge activity with your lesson or used in a small group to offer further support if children require further opportunities to practice.
