Use this Year 4 Write Money (Using Decimals) Reasoning and Problem Solving resource to let your pupils apply their knowledge of writing money using decimal notation to problem solving.

The first two questions are reasoning problems which require children to check statements about writing money and decide if they are correct. They then explain their thinking using mathematical vocabulary.

In the third question, they are problem solving - choosing coins and then writing the amounts using decimal notation.

Images of coins are used throughout the resource to support children's working. There are 2 similar parts to each question to encourage confidence and independence.

An answer sheet is provided to support busy teachers and children who are self marking their work.
