This Year 5 Common Exception Words Resource Pack 1 contains a teaching PowerPoint and five worksheets to help your pupils learn to read and spell a number of the year 5 common exception words. The worksheets include a wordsearch, a crossword, a criss-cross activity, a word list and a spot the mistake activity.

The PowerPoint can be used to introduce your pupils to a range of common exception words and show them how to use mnemonics to aid spelling. The accompanying worksheets can be used in class, with an intervention group, or could be sent home for homework. Answer sheets are provided to support self and peer marking.
