Use this Year 5 Compare Numbers (up to 3 Decimal Places) Reasoning and Problem Solving resource to allow your pupils to apply their knowledge of comparing decimal numbers. The first two questions are reasoning questions which encourage children to carefully compare two decimal numbers and decide whether a statement is correct. They then use mathematical vocabulary to explain their thinking. In the third problem solving question, children pick pairs of decimal numbers which will make a comparison statement correct.

An answer sheet is provided to help busy teachers with marking and pupils with self-marking.

A varied fluency resource is also available for this small step.
