Challenge children's understanding of factors and multiples with this fun and engaging Year 5 Multiples of 10, 100 and 1,000 Discussion Problem. We've taken problem-solving skills to the next level and created two different activities for children to apply their knowledge to. Both activities involve different problem-solving skills and each can be used multiple times.
This resource requires a deeper level of understanding, therefore, we recommend using this in conjunction with the rest of the resources for this lesson. By completing the different worksheets and taking a journey through the accompanying PowerPoints, children will gain the required skills to take on these tasks. This can be used as a challenge in class to be used in pairs or small groups. This will encourage mathematical thinking and discussion too. Alternatively, you could use this as part of an intervention group to extend children's learning or give it as a homework task for your competent learners. A model answer is provided for children to compare their outcomes too.
