Let's be honest. There's not that much point cracking on with the Multiples step if your class aren't secure with times tables. And I know, I know, times tables are just practised and practised and practised. But still we've created this Year 5 Multiples resource to recap a few of the times tables needed in different contexts and so that children begin to see the link between multiples and times tables. This includes the 6 Times Table, the 9 Times Table, the 7 Times Table, and the 11 and 12 Times Tables.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Count in multiples of 6, 7, 9, 25 and 1000
  • Recall multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 × 12
  • Use place value, known and derived facts to multiply and divide mentally, including: multiplying by 0 and 1; dividing by 1; multiplying together three numbers
  • Multiply two-digit and three-digit numbers by a one-digit number using formal written layout
  • Solve problems involving multiplying and adding, including using the distributive law to multiply two digit numbers by one digit, integer scaling problems and harder correspondence problems such as n objects are connected to m objects
