National Curriculum Objectives

Mathematics Year 3: (3S2) Solve one-step and two-step questions [for example, ‘How many more?’ and ‘How many fewer?’] using information presented in scaled bar charts and pictograms and tables

Mathematics Year 4: (4S2) Solve comparison, sum and difference problems using information presented in bar charts, pictograms, tables and other graphs

Mathematics Year 5: (5S1) Complete, read and interpret information in tables, including timetables

Differentiation:

Beginner Solve one-step sum or difference problems using information presented in a table. Values in the table are all 2-digit numbers. Aimed at Year 3 Developing.

Easy Solve one-step sum or difference problems using information presented in a table. Values in the table are all 3-digit or 4-digit numbers. Aimed at Year 3 Secure/Year 4 Emerging.

Tricky Solve one-step sum or difference problems using information presented in a table. Values in the table are all 4-digit or 5-digit numbers. Aimed at Year 3 Mastery/Year 4 Secure/Year 5 Emerging.

Expert Solve one-step sum or difference problems using information presented in a table. Values in the table are all 5-digit or  6-digit numbers. Aimed at Year 4 Mastery/Year 5 Secure.
