Our GPS resources support our own sequence of learning and all popular GPS schemes and cover National Curriculum Objectives for Years 1 to 6. Our engaging resources for each GPS step allow you to choose what you need to deliver appropriate content for your class. We also have accompanying spelling resources for Years 2 to 6. This can be used in conjunction with our GPS sequence of learning to provide a holistic and in-depth approach to teaching Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling.
GPS Teaching PowerPoint
Our teaching powerpoints provide an opportunity to assess your pupils’ understanding of the prior learning, before guiding them through the required steps to consolidate the learning of the main skill. There are opportunities throughout to check their knowledge and understanding in order to equip you with the skills needed to provide quality first teaching within the main lesson.
GPS Varied Fluency and Application and Reasoning
This worksheet offers a range of varied fluency and application and reasoning questions to allow pupils to apply their learning from the teaching PowerPoint and practice the main skill. We also offer a third Mixed Activity worksheet, which provides a combination of both varied fluency and application and reasoning solving questions on a single page.
GPS Homework
Ideal to use for homework or as an extension task, this worksheet includes a range of varied fluency, application and reasoning questions to consolidate their understanding of the main skill.
Displays
Our GPS display packs include the appropriate Common Exception Words and examples of the relevant grammatical terms and punctuation for each Key Stage. The packs are ideal to display on a working wall for children to use as a reference throughout the year.
GPS Assessments
At the end of each term you can assess pupil knowledge of all the blocks and small steps covered so far in that term. The assessment packs are available for Years 1 – 6 and include SATs style assessment; a mark scheme with content domain coverage, small step coverage with suggested levels and a teacher assessment spreadsheet to identify pupils working at different levels within the year group.
Spelling Assessments
The assessment helps to pinpoint which content domains children can achieve and which require more practise. Teacher information is included, along with a question sheet that is displayed in a SATs style format. This provides great practice in preparation for the statutory assessments, and helps to identify gaps in children’s learning.
Spelling Resource Packs
Our resource packs comprise a teaching PowerPoint and a range of worksheet-based resources. Each worksheet gives children the opportunity to practise applying their knowledge of the taught spelling rule.
