English Y2: Learn how to use the present and past tenses correctly and consistently
Differentiation:
Beginner 1 regular verb underlined - only need to add -ed to change to past tense form, e.g. The postman delivers the letters. (delivered) Aimed at Year 2 Emerging
Easy 2 regular verbs underlined - only need to add -ed to change to past tense form, e.g. She enjoys the music and dances enthusiastically. (enjoyed) (danced) Aimed at Year 2 Developing.
Tricky 1 irregular verb underlined to change into past tense form, e.g. Joe drives carefully down the road. (drove) Aimed at Year 2 Developing.
Expert 1 regular and 1 irregular verb underlined to change into past tense form, e.g. The boy showers before he swims. (showered) (swam) Aimed at Year 2 Secure.
Brainbox 2 irregular verbs underlined to change into the past tense to include those trickier, common irregular verbs such as: is = was, are = were, go/goes = went, has = had, am = was, e.g. She is late and so has to leave. (was) (had) They are early for their appointment and so sit in the waiting room. (were) (sat) Aimed at Year 2 Mastery.
