Goodnight Mister Tom Chapter 20 Comprehension for Whole Class Guided Reading includes differentiated questions and activities based on chapter nineteen of the popular novel by Michelle Magorian. We recommend using this novel with Year 5 & Year 6. In chapter 20, Will, Zach, George and the twins are finally going to check out Spooky Cott. As they approach, George and twins get scared and back out. Will continues on and Zach stays with him although he doesn’t want to go. When they get to the cottage, they are seen by a young man. The man calls out to them and scares Will and Zach. He introduces himself as Geoffrey and Will finds out he is an artist. They spend some time with Geoffrey before heading home. When Will gets back, he is greeted with four adults including a policeman and the warden from London. They tell him that his mother committed suicide and that Will needs to go to an orphanage. Will gets mad and decides to run away and hide, but Tom comes to tell him that they have agreed Tom can now adopt him!
