About this Resource
This resource is designed to be played in pairs. The game is a take on the classic ‘Battleship’. Children recall multiplication facts using the game board, throwing snowballs at their opponent’s game board to hit their objects. Players should not be able to see their opponent’s game board.
Players take it in turns to call out a coordinate (multiplication fact) along with the answer. If the is answer is correct, their opponent replies with ‘hit’ or ‘miss’ and both players mark the squares on their game boards. If the answer is incorrect, the snowball is not thrown. The winner is the player who successfully hits all of their opponent’s objects first. There are two game boards- one for player A and one for player B.
Pupils may cut the Christmas objects out and place them on their grid or draw them onto their grid.
