# Year 4 Comparison, Sum and Difference

This Year 4 Comparison, Sum and Difference lesson covers the prior learning of interpreting charts, before moving onto the main skill of using comparison, sum and difference within statistics.

The lesson starts with a prior learning worksheet to check pupils’ understanding. If they need more practice, you can choose other resources for that step. The interactive lesson slides recap the prior learning before moving on to the main skill. Children can then practise further by completing the activities and can extend their learning by completing an engaging extension task.

National Curriculum Objective
Mathematics Year 4: (4S1) Interpret and present discrete and continuous data using appropriate graphical methods, including bar charts and time graphs
Mathematics Year 4: (4S2) Solve comparison, sum and difference problems using information presented in bar charts, pictograms, tables and other graphs

Due to the nature of the questions on the worksheet, the Extension worksheet is not available in interactive format.
