Year 6 Four Operations Consolidation

This Year 6 Four Operations Consolidation lesson revisits the main teaching points from our Four Operations block.

The lesson starts with the interactive lesson slides to revisit the learning from Four Operations. Children practise their skills with an interactive activity and apply their knowledge by completing the consolidation pack.

National Curriculum Objectives

Mathematics Year 6: (6C4) Solve addition and subtraction multi-step problems in contexts, deciding which operations and methods to use and why

Mathematics Year 6: (6C5) Identify common factors, common multiples and prime numbers

Mathematics Year 6: (6C7a) Multiply multi-digit numbers up to 4 digits by a two-digit whole number using the formal written method of long multiplication

Mathematics Year 6: (6C7b) Divide numbers up to 4 digits by a two-digit whole number using the formal written method of long division, and interpret remainders as whole number remainders, fractions, or by rounding, as appropriate for the context

Mathematics Year 6: (6C7c) Divide numbers up to 4 digits by a two-digit number using the formal written method of short division where appropriate, interpreting remainders according to the context

Mathematics Year 6: (6C8) Solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Mathematics Year 6: (6C9) Use their knowledge of the order of operations to carry out calculations involving the four operations
