The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark Chapter 5 Comprehension for Whole Class Guided Reading includes differentiated questions and activities based on chapter three of the popular story by Jill Tomlinson.* We recommend using this novel with Year 2. In chapter 5, Plop wakes his dad up to go hunting as he is very hungry. His dad tells him off as it is still light out! His mum tells him to go and find out more about the dark. Plop thinks he can see Father Christmas so goes to meet him, but it isn't him! Plop is disappointed but then the lady asks if she can draw him. Plop is very excited and loves the drawing. The lady shows him all the other night-creatures she has drawn. Plop flies back home to tell his mum all the new things he has learnt about the dark.
