This EYFS Humpty Dumpty Expressive Arts and Design activity is adult-led with a clear and easy to follow structure. There are three activities which include creating a collage using different materials, making a jigsaw of Humpty Dumpty and using musical instruments to represent different sections of the rhyme. A session could involve all the activities or a selection based on the needs of the children.

It covers the following objectives for children in reception:

Explore, use and refine a variety of artistic effects to express their ideas and feelings.

Sing in a group or on their own, increasingly matching the pitch and following the melody.

Explore and engage in music making and dance, performing solo or in groups.
